How clients use professional photography
I always love seeing how my clients end up using my photos from shoots as well as how they look in context.
When i’m shooting for my clients, I get given a rough brief and some guidelines, but i’m usually allowed to be fairly creative, make decisions for myself and try to picture what the clients needs would be and how they could potentially use the final images.
So it’s always rewarding to see images, even from a shoot which may on paper be potentially not that creative used in a creative way. This is what pushes me to get the most interesting and usable images for clients so that they have the biggest range of possibilities to use them in different formats and designs.
This shoot for example was of specialist dental chairs, which is not something i’ve shot before and is different from my normal work. However we worked hard to get quite a few interesting product shots of the very big chairs, on location and in the factory, as well as portraits of dental technicians with people in the chairs to give them context (not shown here).
I just love how they all look on their website and in their marketing material. So when shooting images I find it’s always important to ask a client and bear in mind how they will be used in the end product.
